Credit notes and supplementary invoices: how to classify them
The correlated credit note (5.1) and supplementary invoices (1.6, 2.4) have no combinations table of their own: they follow the original invoice.
The rule
For types 5.1 (Credit note / correlated), 1.6 (Sales invoice / supplementary) and 2.4 (Service invoice / supplementary), the official combinations table defines no categories or E3 codes of their own: they depend on the correlated invoices.
In practice: classify it with the same category and E3 code as the original invoice.
What to watch for
- First find the original invoice (the credit note refers to its MARK) and see how it was classified.
- If the original has not been classified yet, classify it first.
- The non-correlated credit note (5.2) has its own combinations table: look it up with the combination checker.
