Advertising in myDATA: Google Ads, Meta and Greek providers
The E3 code is the same; what changes is the document type and who transmits it.
Short answer
- E3 code: E3_585_015 · Advertising and promotion (Διαφήμιση και προβολή).
- Category: 2.3, 2.4 or 2.5; AADE’s table allows all three. 2.5 is for expenses without VAT deduction.
- Greek provider (radio, print, an agency): type 1.1 “Sales invoice” or 2.1 “Service invoice”, transmitted by the provider.
- Provider in another EU country (e.g. Google Ireland, Meta Platforms Ireland): type 14.3 “Invoice / Intra-community receipt of services”.
- Provider outside the EU: type 14.4 “Invoice / Receipt of services from third countries”.
Google Ads and Meta: what changes
- The foreign provider does not transmit the invoice to myDATA. Types 14.x are recipient documents: the business itself registers them.
- The VAT classification for an intra-community receipt of services is VAT_365 (“Intra-community receipts of services, art. 14.2.a”).
- NOT_VAT_295 is not accepted on type 14.1 and 14.3 invoices: AADE answers with error 341.
- If the invoice is not registered, it does not appear in myDATA or in the E3 prefill, while the expense is in the books.
What to check
- That every monthly Google or Meta invoice has been registered; there is usually one a month per ad account.
- Do not leave them under “Other expenses” (E3_585_016): advertising has its own code.
