Bank fees and interest in myDATA
Bank fees and interest are not “other expenses”: they have their own E3 code.
Short answer
- E3 code: E3_586 · Interest expense and related costs.
- Category: 2.4 or 2.5; AADE’s table allows E3_586 with both, for document types 1.1, 2.1, 5.2 and 13.1.
- VAT classification only if the line has VAT: every line with VAT also needs a VAT classification.
What to check
- Choose one category for the client’s bank costs and keep it the same for every bank.
- Do not leave them under the general “Other expenses” code (E3_585_016) out of habit: interest and fees have their own code.
Why it matters
If the bill is left unclassified, its amount is prefilled in E3 under code 585_016 together with every other unclassified expense (AADE’s E3 FAQ).
